Devoto Design takes part in the restyling of the ticket office, bar, and bookshop of the La Fenice Theatre in Venice. The project by SGA revolves around a new configuration of the spaces and routes that lead to the foyer, proposing a set of furniture in line with the chromatism of the pre-existing architecture but with a strong contemporary impact.
As you enter the bookshop you are welcomed by two L-shaped perimeter low cabinets that define and embrace the space, while two wheeled “gondolas” in the middle invite you to proceed towards the big oval ticket office desk with its 6 workstations and one station for the disabled. This big desk is composed of 11 separate modules on wheels that can be disassembled and moved to make room for the setup and organization of events.
Then we find the bar with its long counter and two waiter stations, the latter on wheels too to get always new configurations of the space in line with the ever-changing needs.
All these furnishings are characterised by vertical cladding in pierced metal sheets and a top in white solid surface. They all have an oval shape that creates consistency, dialogue among the different places, and an elegant harmony with the theatre’s architecture.
