In one of the most beautiful streets of Rome is sited the Hotel Romeo, a luxury hotel owned by Romeo Immobiliare and designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.

Devoto Design furnished the public areas of the hotel, making it our third cooperation with the English architecture firm.

Fully in line with the style of the beloved Zaha Hadid and the firm that bears her name, this project features curving geometries and organic shapes.

Clients are welcomed by imposing double-curving ceiling cladding and wall claddings that wind and lead customers to the reception before converging down to the floor behind the reception desks. The claddings are in fiberglass and painted with brass powder. The desks have a curving shape too and are coated in dark marble and framed by brass profiles. The reception also features a shelf/console that stretches out of the walls with variable width, made of wood, fiberglass and gelcoat.

A similar cladding, a double-curving element that covers both walls and ceiling in continuity, is found in the bar and restaurant. The finishing material here is 100-gloss Amara ebony wood. The engineering process of this cladding – made of full portions and carved portions for the insertion of lighting elements – was decisive in the process of appointment of Devoto Design: our preliminary analysis, consultancy and construction solutions made a difference.

The same cladding and the same curving lines define the cigar room and the reading room, where it is also possible to find double- and triple-curving bookcases in Amara ebony wood.

Our scope of works also included the cladding of the spa and wellness areas, curving elements in wood and gelcoat that rise from the floor up to cover the ceiling.
